TextTak Free Download offers a fast, friendly message facility from any Windows desktop.
TextTak allows you to send a message to anyone in your WorkGroup or Domain, without any prior registration or any requirement to be on email.
On TextTak’s home page, you can create a personalised contact list by entering any group or domain name, and then select the individuals you wish to send messages to.
A message is sent with a friendly reminder message, asking the recipient to check their TextTak message.
The message window appears “on top” of your desktop for a short time, while the recipient receives the message and can respond to it.
When the recipient checks their TextTak message, TextTak will inform them that your message is waiting.
You can then send a reply message to your recipient.
If the recipient isn’t on textTak, the message will not be delivered.
For each text message, you can set a time for the message to expire, and whether or not the message should be displayed to the recipient.
Configuration:
As soon as you open TextTak, you can create a personalised contact list. To do this, you need to enter any group or domain name and then choose the individual contacts you wish to add to the list.
There are 4 versions of TextTak available, depending on which edition you require.
1 – Desktop Edition – For use on the desktop, with its own message window.
2 – Server Edition – Use TextTak as a daemon, with a central database, which interacts with other TextTak instances.
3 – Enterprise Edition – For use as a network message system with multiple TextTak instances, for managing incoming and outgoing messages within your organisation.

Please note:
If you are installing TextTak on a Win2000 network, the “Please ensure you have the latest updates for your version of Windows” banner will appear on the first start.
If you have not changed the “Check for Update” setting to “Yes” in the “Preference” page of the Preferences Dialog, then you will need to ensure you have the latest Windows updates installed.
TextTak is meant to be a quick and friendly message system, so we’d like to stress that it is not intended for long-term use as a messaging system.

TextTak creates email messages designed to be effectively sent and received
from colleagues within your WorkGroup or Domain.
It is a perfect note-taker for when you are asking someone a quick question and need to leave
a quick note and can’t be bothered waiting for the phone to stop ringing.
When you reach the office you can choose to drop a sticky note on your colleague’s desktop
and leave a quick message.
Note: TextTak will not use system printers, hence it is not a replacement for a fax
copy machine.

When a colleague receives the message they’ll have the option of opening it and reading it or simply

TextTak has the ability to notify you to messages when you are away from your desk.

If you want to print a message, then a printer can be chosen from the list of the available
printers on your local network.
* Save
The message you send can be saved on a local machine, so it does not need to be
saved to the network.
* Print preview
When a message is saved, you can preview a copy of the message on your local
machine.
* Message Saved
If you send a message and need to see what the recipient sees, then a copy of the message
has been saved for the recipient.
* Save to Text file
You can save a copy of the message to a local text file.
* Share
You can share a message with any colleague who is in your workgroup or Domain.
