* **Every move you make in Photoshop is saved in the history, which is accessible by the History panel.** In fact, you don’t even have to close a file for Photoshop to remember a layer’s settings.

You can see the History panel at the bottom of the Layers panel, as shown in Figure 2-1. The History panel gives you a list of all your past Photoshop creations, and allows you to jump back and forth by moving the highlighted row of History items up or down. When you press the Up key, you return to the top of the History; a click of the Up or Down arrow key moves you forward or backward through the History.

You can press Page Up or Page Down to move to the next or previous item in the History. Press Enter to return to the top of the History. A red dot in the History panel icon indicates the current position.

Photoshop’s History isn’t the only place where you store information about your project. The most recent version of any file is stored in the _.psd_ file, which is the file’s extension. There’s also a version of the file in a _.psb_ file. These files hold information about the latest edits to the file, how much time has passed since those edits, and how much time you’ve spent in Photoshop editing the file. You can find out more about the PSB file in Chapter 9.

The _.psd_ file is where you keep all your editing history — and with that knowledge, you can load your old work back into Photoshop to make small changes and edit again! This process is called _undoing_ (or _rolling back_ ) and is really quite simple.

You undo an item by choosing Edit⇒Undo from the menu or pressing U. Or, you can use the keyboard shortcut: Ctrl+Z (Windows) or +Z (Mac). If you press Ctrl+Z, you return to the last edit, which seems awfully handy; you can then press Ctrl+Z again to move to the next edit.

When you choose Edit⇒Undo, you return to the last action you performed — if you’d rather jump back to an earlier step than the most recent action, that’s fine.

1. Getting started

Installing Photoshop Elements is easy and free. Once downloaded, you are given two options.

The first option is to install a trial version of Photoshop Elements, and the second is to install the full version.

To begin editing in Photoshop Elements, you will select the appropriate tool to do the job. You can use these in any order; however, as they will all be easier to use when they are not all stacked up on the same screen, it is a good idea to start with the most commonly used tools first.

4. Stair-stepping your way through the available tools

Once in the main screen, you will see a button at the top of the screen for editing your file. Make sure you can see it, as it is the first tool you will use. Below this button is a text box.

Click on the arrow next to the edit button to see a list of the available tools. You can edit your file using either the keyboard or the mouse and using a combination of the features to make your image perfect.

You can also view the user manual. Click on the manual or help icon to open a new document for looking up keywords or definitions.

The overall goal of the proposed research is to expand the knowledge base on the psychophysiological bases of nursing interventions. The research will advance the knowledge concerning the physiological measures relevant to nursing through an investigation of their patterns of variance. (2) If a pattern of variance is identified for each task, how do the patterns of variance differ from one another with respect to their timing, complexity, and/or nature? The research will involve two sets of subjects, one group of community dwelling subjects and one group of nursing home subjects. The specific hypotheses to be examined in the proposed research are: (1) In response to the nursing tasks there will be a natural history of variance in one or more of the physiological measures for both groups of subjects and (2) The natural history of variance in the physiological measures for the community dwelling and nursing home groups will be similar. Today, November 12, is International Women’s Day. (Women’s Day is celebrated in Bangladesh on March 17.) This is a day of celebration, respect, and commitment. “Grameen” is in high demand in Bangladesh and the global awareness of this unique rural banking program is growing. It is a program that is first, and foremost, for the women of Bangladesh. The program has been around for almost 60 years and, to date, has distributed over 50 million saplings, improved over 20,000 farming techniques, and provided health, education, and microfinance services to over 40 million individuals.

The Bangladesh Rural Advancement Committee, an international NGO that works in the rural areas of Bangladesh, has a higher education program in place as part of the Grameen program that is designed to impart proper teaching methods to rural children. Among the teaching methods used are diaries, charts, chalkboards, notebooks, maps, blogs, social media, and English. There is no television. Rather, the children are taught through all sorts of visual aids. They learn through participation in activities using the material.

Children are also taught cooperation, compassion, emotional intelligence, respect for others, tolerance, commitment, and self-esteem. A major goal is to have a trained leadership in the future.
