Sketch Window
Sketch Window The Sketch Window is the basic drawing tool in AutoCAD. Clicking the Sketch Window icon opens the Sketch Window. The Sketch Window works in both 2D and 3D. (This window is also available in other AutoCAD programs.)

The drawing area and annotation tools
The tools include the Selection tool, Object Snap tool, Eraser tool, Zoom tool, Shape tools, Arc tool, Polyline tool, Path tool, and the Dimension tool. The Select tool is used to mark objects on a drawing. Clicking the Select tool icon opens the Select tool window. The Select tool is available in the Home tab and the New Design tab. Ribbon customization
Ribbon
The ribbon, also known as the Application toolbar or ribbon panel, contains the most commonly used controls for a particular purpose. There is a ribbon for a new project, and one for a new drawing. The ribbon is normally customized to suit the end-user’s preference. There are also a few larger items such as buttons on the ribbon which are hard-coded. When a user makes a custom change to the ribbon, they often assign a shortcut to the button or control they want to use.
Ribbons are normally customizable in two ways:
Automatic: AutoCAD changes the default ribbon to use the most commonly used commands when the user selects a menu or tool from the main ribbon.
Custom: The user can customize the ribbon by changing the ribbon buttons to reflect their preference. This is usually done by assigning a shortcut key or a command to each button.
Ribbons are customizable through both programmatic and non-programmatic (hints) methods. The programmatic method requires using the ribbons API or ribbon object while the non-programmatic method requires the use of AutoLISP, Visual LISP, Visual Basic,.NET or ObjectARX. The ribbon object also provides methods to get the position of the user’s cursor within the drawing environment, as well as methods to get to the command history.
Ribbons and parameters
Two types of parameters are defined in a drawing. These are local parameters and global parameters. Parameters can also be classified as absolute or relative. Local parameters are used for a specific command and global parameters are used for commands that apply to all drawings.
Most parameters are stored in the project space. However, the Set and SetValues methods also allow changing the parameters in the current drawing space. Parameters can be modified, as well as created or removed. When modifying parameters, the current value in the project space is cleared, then the new value is set. When removing parameters, the current value in the current drawing space is cleared, and the parameter is removed from the project space and the current drawing space.
Ribbons and parameter class
The ribbon object can be accessed through the ribbons API or by loading the ribbon object library. The API is used to set and get the values of the default ribbon in the current drawing space, and also to programmatically change the ribbon in response to a user command. The s.11(1) Amendment Act 1996 was proposed as an amendment to the Trade Practices Act 1974. The Bill was introduced into the House of Representatives on 5 April 1996. The Bill was passed through both Houses of Parliament on 12 December 1996. The Bill received Royal Assent on 17 December 1996. The Act commenced on 1 July 1997.
The Act makes several changes to the sections of the Trade Practices Act 1974 related to advertisement.
Part 1 – changes to advertising material
Section 11(1) – extending the prohibition on false and misleading advertising material
The amended section states that advertising material, be it print, visual or audio, which is false, misleading or deceptive and is primarily intended to be read or heard by consumers is prohibited.
The following is an example of advertising material that would be prohibited under the amended section:
“BARANGOSDUKE.CO.ZA will save you money.”
A consumer would reasonably believe that the advertiser is promising to save them money on the goods they are purchasing. In this instance, the ad uses “BARANGOSDUKE.CO.ZA” as an address.
Section 11(1)(b) – making it an offence for a supplier to advertise a product and its benefits if the supplier does not have a significant interest in the product or does not provide the product

Section 11(1)(c) – importing and exporting advertising material that is false, misleading or deceptive
The Act states that it is an offence for a supplier to import or export advertising material that is false, misleading or deceptive.
Section 11(1)(d) – promoting a product by using a prohibited advertisement
The Act makes it an offence for a supplier to promote a product by using an advertisement that is false, misleading or deceptive. This offence is a contravention of s.14 of the Trade Practices Act 1974.
Section 11(1)(e) – false and misleading advertisement
The Act states that it is an offence for a supplier to make a false or misleading advertisement. This offence is a contravention of s.14 of the Trade Practices Act 1974.
