The first AutoCAD (Autodesk, Inc., version 1) was released in 1982. It had been in development for more than a year by Bob Rode and Neil Stephens and was introduced at the American Institute of Electrical Engineers (AIE) Annual Meeting in Boston. The original AutoCAD was so new it was not even listed in the 1982 AIE Catalog.[1]
It was built on a series of technologies that Autodesk was already developing for other purposes, with the majority of the system being used for an interactive hardware-rendered graphics application. Its graphical user interface was the first to use a scrolling window and icon-based command system. The first use of a tool-bar was to make commands accessible to the user. The bitmap resolution was 512×256. The first hardcopy output was called Bitmap, since it was printed on a laser printer.
Steve Jobs’s introduction of the Macintosh in 1984 was the catalyst for the success of AutoCAD. One of the main reasons for AutoCAD’s success was the way it addressed the issues brought about by the use of the first widely used Windows-based system for CAD applications. Apple had no plans to produce a CAD program (or perhaps any software for that matter), but they were in a unique position to be able to promote the new Apple II computer. To do this, Jobs announced at the 1984 World’s Fair in San Francisco that Apple would release a “Drafting Program for $500.”[2]

Pycharm, Python3 and sys.argv
So, I am using the PyCharm IDE and I have an application that takes a parameter in the form of “–ip-address” and will just take a default of that IP address. But if a user decides to give no value to the parameter, then the IP is going to be wrong. So I tried to use the sys.argv to get the IP address if the parameter wasn’t passed. But it isn’t working. Here is the code:
