The problem now is that people are not getting the application notifications that are supposed to come with Windows 8.1, but they are getting a notification that the color of the start menu has changed.

The government has committed $4.6 million to the Snowbelt Renewable Energy Program, a grant program to encourage development of wind energy in Alberta.
The program, which ran from 2007 to 2010, supported projects that have already attracted private investment to demonstrate the economic viability of wind energy in Alberta.
“Our government is committed to encouraging the development of renewable energy for a greener, cleaner Alberta. We are also committed to the advancement of all Albertans through training and education. The grant program supports a training initiative aimed at getting a better skilled and educated workforce that is prepared to meet the challenges of the 21st century,” says Economic Development Minister Deron Bilous.
“This grant will help more Albertans learn about the diverse energy options that are available and also help business owners get access to potential market opportunities,” adds Bilous.
The program provides two per cent of the total project cost. Three per cent of the cost can be from the government, five per cent from the private sector, and two per cent from the public sector.
Each grant is valued at $1.2 million.
The projects supported by the program were:
• $1.1 million Snowbelt Renewable Energy Initiative from the Alberta Motor Association to the Snowbelt Renewable Energy Association for the construction of the first wind energy facility to be constructed on Crown land in Alberta;
• $2.4 million Snowbelt Renewable Energy Initiative from the Government of Alberta to the Government of Alberta for the construction of the Windstream Tower Facility, an experimental grid-tied wind farm on the U.S. border; and
• $1.5 million Snowbelt Renewable Energy Initiative from the Government of Alberta to the Government of Alberta for the construction of the Central Windpower Facility, an experimental grid-tied wind farm, at the head of the Elk Island National Park.
