Applications include the simulation of rocket flights, but can also be used for any other flying object, including for example, the simulation of missiles, rockets, planes, satellites, fireballs, etc.

The simulation code is written in Matlab / Octave, which means that most users should be familiar with it already.
The underlying physics of the simulation is divided into several modules. Each module performs a specific task.
The most important of these modules are thrust and control. Thrust is the force that moves the object forward, provided by a thrust model. Control is the torque that is needed to move the object about the axis that is connected to the control coordinate (up, down, right, left, forward and back).
Other modules are needed to handle the physics of different effects, such as the forces applied to the object due to gravity or drag. These modules make the simulation more realistic, but are not used to calculate the simulated thrust or control values.
Important Notes:
To run the simulation, the thrust and control values are specified along with the velocity that the rocket/object has (the velocity is automatically calculated as an average of the velocity vector). Once the values have been specified, the simulation runs until the object hits the ground or a specified amount of time elapses.
The simulation results are reported in the following way:
Every iteration that the object is in the air, the thrust and control values and the velocity are stored. At the end of the simulation, these values are used to calculate the complete trajectory of the object through the sky.
To calculate this trajectory, the thrust and control values at every time step are interpolated between using spline interpolation (which is the default) or Hermite interpolation. Then the position of the object at each time step is calculated by applying the thrust and control values that were stored at that time
