It works like this: You read one or more RSS-Feed-Urls (something like from your browser (it should support HTML5). When a RSS-Feed-Page will be loaded you will get the xml-file from the RSS-Feed-Url, but you can also set the url by pressing a keyboard-shortcut.
Afterwards you will set some parameters in our Windows Live Messenger Add-In, which is installed into Messenger:
Status: “New RSS-Feed” or “Old RSS-Feed”
Time: Minutes to show the RSS-Feed or Seconds
URL (rss-feed urls) or texts (only for “New RSS-Feed”)
RSS-Feeds are files with a.RSS extension. The name of the file is the name of the RSS-Feed. The RSS-Feed File format is simple. Each line ends with a new line-break, i.e. a new line starts with a % not with a new line. It look’s like this:

RSS-Feed Windows Live Messenger Add-In Free X64 [April-2022]
RSS-Feed Windows Live Messenger add-in allows you to subscribe to any RSS-Feed. Then it will refresh the RSS-Feed status every 5 minutes (configurable in the settings) and post the latest messages from your RSS-Feed in your desktop. You can either let your RSS-Feed post text messages to your desktop, or reply to the RSS-Feed’s recent messages with the same text.
How To configure RSS-Feed Windows Live Messenger Add-In Settings:
Menu -> Options -> Options -> Edit Feed Status -> Select Feed… -> Select Feed from the list -> From the selected Feed click Add.
Select any RSS-Feed (e.g. slashdot.com/rss/rest/)
RSS-Feed Windows Live Messenger Add-In can be deactivated by Menu -> Options -> Options -> Edit Feed Status -> Set to Disable after 30 seconds.
I’ve been working on, and now have released, a Windows Live Messenger add-in that allows you to post status messages from an RSS-Feed (e.g. slashdot.com/rss/rest/). It’s one of the most annoying things about Windows Live Messenger that you can’t configure your “status message” as an RSS-Feed, instead you have to use a normal text message.

RSS-Feed works with Outlook Express too, select RSS-Feed in the Outlook Express “Options”->”Folders & Messages” and add your RSS-Feed there.
Sorry, this add-in is unfortunately not compatible with Windows Vista or Windows 7. I noticed a bug in the add-in that caused it to crash after initial setup on Windows 7. It should be fixed in the next release.

RSS-Feed can easily be used with Windows Live Messenger, Google Talk, and Yahoo! Messenger.
With RSS-Feed you will be able to change your personal status text,
with other predefined text, and/or you can select the RSS-Feed to change the text. The RSS-Feed also contains an RSS-Lite button, which you can use to set the status automatically. There are a lot of predefined RSS-Feeds available, and you can add your own too, without any programming.
Today we’ve released Windows Live Messenger 11.1. This update includes a new feature to the Windows Live Messenger interface – chat icons. With this update, Windows Live Messenger will include a “send chat” menu item in the chat window.
To use the new features, you’ll need to have Windows Live Messenger 11.1 installed. This is a free update for all users, and it is recommended that you install this update.
Here’s a short run-down on chat icons:
– For users with the “Automatic Invitation” group enabled, chat icons are automatically available in the “Send chat” button.
– To use chat icons, you’ll be able to hover over a message in the chat window, and click on the chat icon in the “Send chat” button.
– You can toggle the chat icon on and off in the “Settings” dialog box.
– If you want the default chat icon to appear, it will be automatically displayed in the “Settings” dialog box. To change the default chat icon, you’ll be able to set a new chat icon via the “Customize chat window” button.
– Chat icons are viewable only for users who have enabled chat icons in the “Settings” dialog box.
– If you are a group owner, you’ll have the ability to assign a custom chat icon. To do this, simply set up a group chat. You’ll be able to set a custom chat icon with the “Customize chat window” button.
You will need to have Windows Live Messenger 11.1 in order to use the chat icon feature. You can get the update from the Windows Live Messenger section in the Windows Update section of the All Programs menu. You’ll be able to update both your client and your server.

– You can enable and disable the add-in by a simple click or right click.
– You can configure your add-in by changing the default text (text1), the password (passwd) and the username and url (user and rss url).
– You can change the settings by navigating on the menu.
How to use:
– To be able to use this add-in it is recommended that you have installed the Windows Live Messenger and Live Messenger Client or it’s standart Windows Live Messenger version without Client.
– Open up Live Messenger and find an add-in that should be active.
– To run the add-in, right-click on it and choose “Run As Adminstrator”
– Right click on an add-in that runs as adminstrator and choose “Disable”.
– Right click on an add-in that does not run as adminstrator and choose “Enable”.
How to find an add-in that should be active:
– If you have Live Messenger 12 or standart Windows Live Messenger without Client installed, you will find Live Messenger Add-Ins in the “Live Messenger Preferences” by double click on the “Windows Live Messenger Preferences” icon in your start menu.
– If you have Live Messenger 12 with Client installed, you will find Live Messenger Add-Ins in the “Messenger Client Preferences” by double click on the “Messenger Client Preferences” icon in your start menu.
– If you have Live Messenger 12 or standart Windows Live Messenger without Client installed, you will find “Recent Live Messenger Add-Ins” in the “Live Messenger Add-Ins” by right-clicking on
