Managing the system volume can get quite difficult when multiple games or applications are open at the same time, as you may need to quickly turn the volume down or up when switching to a different one. Things get even more difficult if your keyboard is not equipped with media keys.
TbVolScroll is a lightweight program that lets you control the volume in an entirely different way – while it is running, you can simply scroll up or down to change the volume when the cursor is placed over the Taskbar.
Control the volume with only the scroll wheel
Once you’ve launched the application, you only need to move the mouse cursor over the Taskbar and scroll up or down. A horizontal volume bar will be displayed, and its color and size will change based on the current sound level.
Each scroll step modifies the volume by 5%, and you can hold the ALT key to reduce this to 1%, thus making fine adjustments easier. When the level is below 10%, the precise volume control is enabled automatically.
Unobtrusive and simple to use, but it lacks customization options
Getting started with TbVolScroll could hardly be easier, as you don’t need to install anything and can just launch the executable file from any location on your PC. It only runs in the system tray, so it is very unobtrusive.
Unfortunately, though, you can’t change anything about the program’s behavior. For instance, it would have been great if it were possible to customize the volume steps and when precise control is enabled, as well as keep the percentage indicator active at all times. Also, the dimensions and color of the volume bar cannot be altered.
Promising utility that could use some more features
Make no mistake, TbVolScroll worked great during our tests, and it is a great application for users who are looking for a new way to control the system volume. However, we would like to see more customization options added in future releases.

I have a media pc and only have one program for volume control, which was the default player. The default player does not have a scroll wheel. This is the only program i could find that i could use and it works well.

A spokeswoman for the Ministry of Education said on Friday (May 15) that the move is in line with its effort to rationalise subsidies on sports and extracurricular activities to decrease “ever-increasing” costs.
The clubs, which were operated by government contractors, allow students to attend some extra classes. They give students points that can be redeemed for credit towards meals or extra classes.
In November last year, then-Education Minister Ong Ye Kung announced that the clubs would be phased out after 17 of 25 contractors voluntarily pulled out, citing operating costs and burden.
The decision was made after analysis showed that fewer than 1,000 students in 538 centres had been using the clubs.
Some 1.1 million students in 1,126 centres nationwide will continue to receive mid-day meals as well as snacks and drinks from the Ministry of Education.

Myself, I am a bit of a sound junkie, and I bought a very old high end stereo system about a decade ago. It was working really well, with 3 CDs of music, and an iPod connected to it. But then my family got a HD flat screen television, and it needed its own amp. As soon as I did that, the sound was ruined. The good stereo system was set up to feed the TV, and the TV was fed by a better amp.
I would like to get a better quality setup for music, but I just can’t justify spending hundreds of dollars on headphones right now. So I downloaded and listened to the Virtual Audio Cable sample, and I have to say, it sounds just amazing. I intend to buy one of these in the not too distant future, but it is great to play around with a free program like this.
The native Android way of connecting a USB headset is not very good in my opinion. It does not provide any volume controls, you have to navigate to the sound settings directly, and try to figure out the taskbar indicator to find your tracks.
Then you can either:
1. Win a lot of games.
2. Find a video player to let you sync the volume of your desktop and the video.
