Ten patients with severe AS underwent gated cardiac computed tomography (CT). The parameters were defined as: (1) the regional motion amplitude (AMA) using global or partial summation for aortic valve area (AVA) (0.50 cm(2), and (3) the AMA of the maximal and minimal diameters of the ascending aorta relative to the semilunar valve. For example, the triplet state of the dyes does not reach the same energy level as the singlet state of the sensitisers. The lowest lying triplet state of the dye is higher by 2.6 eV than the lowest singlet state of the sensitiser. The triplet state therefore has to overcome a barrier of 2.6 eV. The lifetime of the triplet state is typically less than 1 μs.
To date, stable triplet dyes have been synthesized that contain no peripheral substituents, for example at the 6- and 7-positions. As a result of this, the triplet dyes have a relatively short half-life, about 0.6 μs, making them unsuitable for use in organic photovoltaic cells.
