Cities in Motion 2: Metro Madness is a continuation of the original Cities in Motion and is the eleventh title in the Cities in Motion franchise. It focuses on the combined Metro Lines as they recover from being sent to the universe’s most dangerous, unexplored chapter: The Twilight Zone.

Gameplay

The game uses a third-person, non-turn-based, side-scrolling platformer style; with the player’s character—the player character, or PC—fitting in the role of an explorer who travels along the Metro lines, locating more and more Metro charges, while skipping to the next location on the screen and moving from intersection to intersection, to avoid getting caught in the crossfire of the wars that have erupted in the new universe. The game follows the standard gameplay conventions of beat-’em-up and puzzle games, with exploration and combat being the focus of gameplay.

The Metro universe has been blasted open to terraform systems by the remnants of the human race. Terralite, an element of Earth that is only found in the Twilight Zone portion of the new universe, has taken over these terraform systems and transformed the galaxy. To get rid of the terralite, the humans devised the Rechafactor, a device that transported them to the new universe. The Rechafactor was activated, but the device overcharged with terralite, and the humans were sent into the Twilight Zone, where the terralite stabilized, which awakened other, older terran technology that has since been reactivated. The robots that have been reactivated are the C-0s, which are widely considered hostile, and later, the C3-0s.

The game starts with the player arriving at the Metropolis Control Center, which orbits in a particular area of space that is free of terralite and thus safe. From there, the player encounters brief, humorous cutscenes involving the player character, who, at this point in time, simply goes by the name of PC. In these scenes, the player character, using experimental equipment from the remnants of the human race, reconquers the Metro and its system from the C-0s, which recently reactivated the Metro Lines.

The Game consists of 3 Chapters:

Metropolis Central: The Great Metroland, playing from the story-based perspective and focusing on exploring the Metro.

Twilight Hills and Terralite: The sinister, post-humans of the C3-
